Prabha Nandagopal is a leading human rights and discrimination lawyer with over 16 years of broad experience across Government, NGOs, United Nations and private legal practice.
For the past twelve years Prabha held various senior positions at the Australian Human Rights Commission including Director of Human Rights Law and Policy and Director of Business and Human Rights. Most recently, she was the Director of Legal for the Independent Review into Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces. In 2020, she was a senior legal advisor to the Respect@Work National Inquiry. In 2014, she was Director of the National Inquiry into Children in Detention. Prior to the Australian Human Rights Commission, she was a lawyer at the Human Rights Law Centre.
Prabha commenced her legal career as a government litigation lawyer at DLA Piper in Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (honours), and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Adelaide.
