Neil Laurie is the Clerk of the Parliament (Queensland), a position he has held since February 2003. Neil commenced work at the Queensland Parliament in June 1993 and worked as the Secretary of number of parliamentary committees until being appointed Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees in 1996. Neil worked with the Legal, Constitutional and Administrative Review Committee on its review and consolidation of the Queensland Constitution. Neil was admitted to the Queensland Supreme Court as a Barrister-at-Law in 1992. Neil is a past president of the Australia New Zealand Association of Clerks at the Table (ANZACATT) and past Chair of its Education Committee. Neil has written extensively about constitutional issues, particularly parliamentary investigations, privilege, procedure and other issues pertaining to Westminster style governments.
