Dr Lael (‘Lulu’) Weis is an Associate Professor at Melbourne Law School. Her principal research interests lie at the intersection of constitutional legal theory, democratic political theory, and comparative constitutional law. Her research uses philosophical methods and comparative constitutional law to analyse issues in constitutional theory, examining how assumptions about the purpose and function of constitutionalism inform theoretical debates. She is the founder and convenor of Melbourne Law School’s Legal Theory Workshop.
