Justin Gleeson SC is the former Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth. He led the Australian legal team in proceedings in the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, as well as in the High Court of Australia. He has returned to private practice at the NSW Bar, specialising in international law and arbitration, constitutional law and appellate law. He acts as counsel, advisor or arbitrator, in domestic and international matters. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law, of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and of ACICA. He is a joint editor of Rediscovering Rhetoric (2008), Constituting Law (2011) and Historical Foundations of Australian Law (2013), each published by Federation Press.
