Jessie Smith is a PhD Candidate in Law at the University of Cambridge, supported by a Gonville & Caius W.M. Tapp Studentship and a John Monash Scholarship. Her doctoral studies concern the renunciation of political violence. She currently supervises students reading Criminal Law on the LLM programme. Jessie has practiced as a criminal solicitor advocate, specialising in terrorism and national security law. In 2022 she will commence a barrister’s pupillage at Doughty Street Chambers in London.
