Dr Jessie Blackbourn is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford University. She has published extensively on issues relating to the development of anti-terrorism legislation in the United Kingdom and Australia. Her current research project examines the effectiveness of institutional mechanisms for review of such legislation, and especially the role played by the United Kingdom Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation and the Australian Independent National Security Legislation Monitor. Jessie is the author of the book, Anti-Terrorism Law and Normalising Northern Ireland (Routledge, 2015).
