Danielle Ireland-Piper is an Associate Professor at Bond University, Australia and serves as Co-Convenor of the Transnational, International and Comparative Law and Policy (TICLP) Network.  Danielle has a PhD from the University of Queensland, an LLM from the University of Cambridge, where she studied under a Chevening Scholarship, and a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of International Relations from Bond University, where she was a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholar. Prior to academia, Danielle was a Senior Legal Officer in both the International Assistance and Treaties Branch and in the Extradition and Mutual Assistance Branch of the Australian Attorney-General's Department. Her employment history also includes time as a Policy Advisor and Parliamentary Liaison Officer to the NSW Minister for Community Services and Aboriginal Affairs, and as a Legal Officer in the Queensland Crime and Misconduct Commission. Danielle also has a background in private legal practice, including in employment law, and was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Kiefel in 2002. In 2014, she was awarded a 'National Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning' and in 2013, she won the 'LexisNexis / Australasian Law Teachers Association Early Career Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Teaching of Law’.
